Brain Station 23 is looking for a Senior Software Engineer (Android POS & Mobile Development) to lead the development and enhancement of Android-based POS terminal and mobile applications. The role focuses on building secure, reliable, and scalable payment solutions while working closely with business users, project teams, QA, operations, and external partners.

Job Responsibilities

Technical Leadership 

• Lead the design, development, enhancement, and maintenance of Android POS terminal and mobile applications. 

• Review software architecture, technical designs, and coding standards to ensure solution quality and scalability. 

• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers and analysts. 

• Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to development best practices. 

• Evaluate new technologies and recommend suitable solutions to improve product capabilities and development efficiency.

 

Software Development 

• Develop and maintain Android applications using Java and related technologies. 

• Design and implement application features, APIs, and system integrations. 

• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in development, testing, and production environments. 

• Optimize application performance, security, and reliability. 

• Participate in system integration with payment hosts, third-party services, and backend platforms

 

Project Delivery 

• Work closely with business users, project managers, QA teams, and external partners to gather requirements and deliver solutions. 

• Participate in project planning, estimation, and technical risk assessment. 

• Support UAT, pilot implementation, certification, and production rollout activities. 

• Ensure project deliverables are completed within agreed timelines and quality standards.

 

Payment Solution Development 

• Design and support payment-related solutions including: 

1. EMV Card Payments 

2. Contactless Payments 

3. QR Payments 

4. e-Wallet Integration 

5. Payment Gateway Integration 

6. Terminal Management System (TMS) 

7. Remote Key Injection (RKI) 

• Support payment certification, compliance, and security requirements.

 

Documentation & Support 

• Prepare technical specifications, design documents, and implementation guides. 

• Support production incidents, root cause analysis, and corrective action planning. 

• Collaborate with operation teams to ensure system stability and service availability.

 

Education 

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related discipline. 

 

Experience 

• Minimum 4–5 years of software development experience. 

• Minimum 3 years of hands-on Android application development experience. 

• Experience leading development activities or mentoring junior developers. 

• Experience in payment industry solutions is highly preferred. 

 

Technical Skills 

• Strong Android application development experience. 

• Strong Java programming skills. 

• Good understanding of Android SDK, Android Studio, application lifecycle, and mobile architecture patterns. 

• Experience with RESTful APIs, JSON, Web Services, and system integration. 

• Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills. 

• Knowledge of SQL databases and performance optimization. 

Added Advantages 

• Knowledge of C/C++ programming. 

• Experience in Android POS terminal development. 

• Knowledge of EMV payment processing, ISO 8583 messaging, QR payment systems, and payment gateways. 

• Experience with payment terminal devices such as PAX, Nexgo, Verifone, Ingenico or similar platforms. 

• Experience with Linux or embedded systems. 

• Knowledge of cryptography, security standards, and key management concepts.
