Description

Brain Station 23 PLC is seeking a Lead PHP Developer with strong hands-on expertise in Laravel, WordPress, and modern JavaScript frameworks such as React.js or Vue.js. This role combines deep technical ownership with team leadership, architectural decision-making, and project delivery responsibilities.

The ideal candidate will lead PHP-based projects end-to-end, guide development teams, collaborate closely with stakeholders, and ensure scalable, secure, and high-quality web solutions aligned with business goals.

Job Responsibilities

Technical Leadership & Architecture

• Lead the design, development, and maintenance of scalable web applications using PHP (Laravel).
• Define technical architecture, coding standards, and best practices across PHP projects.
• Review system designs and contribute to architectural decisions for complex applications.
• Ensure application performance, scalability, security, and maintainability.

Development & Execution

• Oversee and contribute hands-on to WordPress development, including custom themes, plugins, and integrations.
• Lead front-end integration using React.js or Vue.js, ensuring seamless backend–frontend collaboration.
• Guide API design and integration, including RESTful services and third-party systems.
• Optimize applications for speed, performance, and scalability.

Team Leadership & Collaboration

• Lead, mentor, and support a team of PHP developers, ensuring continuous technical growth.
• Conduct code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and enforce clean coding practices.
• Work closely with UI/UX, QA, DevOps, and Project Management teams to ensure timely and high-quality deliveries.
• Support sprint planning, task estimation, and delivery commitments.

Quality, Process & Innovation

• Troubleshoot complex issues and drive root-cause analysis and long-term solutions.
• Ensure adherence to Agile/Scrum development practices.
• Introduce tools, frameworks, and process improvements to enhance productivity and code quality.
• Act as a technical point of contact for PHP-related initiatives.

Requirements

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

Experience

4–8 years of professional experience in PHP development.

Proven experience leading or mentoring development teams or projects.

Strong hands-on experience with Laravel and WordPress customization.

Practical experience with JavaScript frameworks such as React.js or Vue.js.

Technical Skills

Strong knowledge of RESTful APIs, MySQL, and Git-based workflows.

Experience with API integrations, microservices architecture, and modern deployment environments.

Solid understanding of software design principles, performance optimization, and security best practices.
